Apparatus |
For demonstrating the difference in expansion of different
liquids over the same temperature. Consisting of five
glass tubes with bulb of equal capacity mounted on a support,
with scales and metal trough to hold hot water. |

For determining the thermal conductivity of bad conductors.
Three copper discs 42mm diameter x 12mm thickness each
drilled to support a thermometer. A 6V D.C. Electric heater
with wires led out to 4mm sockets and clamped in a wooden
frame by means of a plastic screw. |

For demonstrating the mechanical effect of reflection
and absorption of light and heat. Partially evacuated
glass bulb has four vanes which spin on low friction pivot.
Alternate vanes are dark and white in colour. |

opening at the top. The vertical surfaces are dull black,

mass of aluminium, brass, copper, iron, lead and zinc.
The cylinders are mounted in wooden stand and are drilled
